
The Djeka or Cordifa genius plant is a sedative herb which has been used for hundreds of years in traditional medicine for numerous reasons. It is a mild hypnotic, an antibiotic and has been used for menstrual tension and reduced blood pressure. Although many people do not know this, the Djeka has powerful medicinal properties. Djea leaves, when applied as a compress, helps to relieve the pain of childbirth. It tampers with the consistency of honey and helps the passage of the child through the birth canal. It acts as an antibacterial agent against Staphylococcus aureus (an infection that can cause a wound infection) and Bacillus cereus (food poisoning). It is also an anti-inflammatory agent which can help reduce scarring at the time of surgery, for example, under the eye.
How to use:
- Carefully wash the leaves
- Boil for 10-215 minutes in 1.5L or 2L of water
